No. The effect of the CatScram is not unlike your alarm clock
jarring you awake in the morning or a car beeping it's horn unexpectedly.
No harm will be done by intermittent exposure to the CatScram and your cat will soon learn to avoid the entire affected area.
However, it is important to note that the cat must not be confined to the area affected by the CatScram.
If this were to happen, a number of bad things could result including permanent hearing loss, aggressive behavior, and other psychological problems.
All are very similar to what would happen to a human confined to the front row of a rock concert.
