I attempted to adopt a female Bassett mix. Her name is Julip. I was denied due to no fenced in yard. I live in the country on 12 acres of land. I live so far off the road, it would take a good while for a "puppy" to get to there. I had to tell my son he couldn't get Julip (he picked her out) for his birtday because you wouldn't let us have her due to no fence. His dog died back in June. We had her for 14 years. She's all he's known for his whole life (6 years). I have always praised the Humane Society until now. I think it's ridiculous that no one can even adopt a puppy (4 mo.) for their son's birthday present because they don't have a fenced in yard. We have NEVER had a fenced in yard, and have NEVER lost an animal by getting hit by a car! We have enough sense to keep a puppy up until they are old enough to learn NOT to get into the road. We bought a registered Beagle pup for our son. He named her "Maggie". She is in a pen in the back yard. We would have made one for Julip, but your staff were SOOO rude and inconsiderate, I nor any of my family or friends will adopt or contribute to you EVER again!
