Odor Destroyer pet odor remover is a proprietary formulated blend of solvent soluble, malodor counteractants and fragrances designed to deliver the maximum in odor neutralizing capabilities for those extreme circumstances. Designed to work in applications in which water based or bacterial enzyme products are inappropriate, these products are designed to be used undiluted, at a ratio up to 1 gallon per 4000 square feet. Apply with an electric fogger or pump type sprayer for best results. Care should be taken to test on a scrap of carpeting prior to use.

Safety

Keep out of the reach of children! Odor Destroyer pet odor remover is combustible and extreme care should be taken when applying product. Please extinguish all flames and pilot lights before use. Do not expose to heat, open flames or any source of ignition. Use an approved respirator when applying product in confined area so as to protect from fumes. For skin or eye contact, flush area with clear water for 15 minutes. For eye contact, consult physician immediately.

Application

Odor Destroyer pet odor remover is solvent soluble but a small amount may be added to a cleaning solution or used as an after- spray treatment.
Effectively neutralizes odors in carpets, fabrics, cars, boats, bathrooms, kitchens, garbage bins, dumpsters, etc.
Product may be applied through a garden type sprayer, hand sprayer, ULV Electric Fogger, or thermal fogger
MILD ODOR PROBLEMS: Product must be used undiluted. One gallon will treat 4000 square feet.
MODERATE ODOR PROBLEMS: Product must be used undiluted. One gallon will treat 3000 square feet.
SEVERE ODOR PROBLEMS: Product must be used undiluted. One gallon will treat 2000 square feet.

Will your product remove pet odors like dog urine from hardwood flooring?

Yes, Odor Destroyer is an excellent product for removing pet odor from your hardwood flooring. We have many, many satisfied customers who have successfully removed pet urine odors from their hardwood flooring using only Odor Destroyer.

Note: In rare cases, solvent based products like Odor Destroyer may remove some wood finishes. If this happens, you will need to refinish the flooring.
Why use a solvent pet odor remover instead of a water based product?

Odor Destroyer is much better than water based enzyme products for removing pet urine odor from hardwood flooring because is Odor Destroyer is a solvent based product. Because there is is not water in Odor Destroyer there is only a minimal risk of moisture related warping. On the other hand, with enzyme based pet odor removal products a large amount of moisture is introduced into the hardwood flooring. This excess moisture will cause the wood to swell and can cause warping and buckling of the flooring material. If your hardwood floor has already buckled or warped, contact a hardwood flooring profession immediately. Unfortunately, once it happens a total replacement is usually the only option to restore your hardwood flooring to it's original condition.
Can I use Odor Destroyer on carpet/upholstery/drapes?

Yes. Odor Destroyer is designed for use on carpet and other fabrics. As with any product, you should always test a small inconspicuous area first.
Will Odor Destroyer remove urine odor from carpet?

Most definitely. Odor Destroyer was designed to remove foul odors like pet urine and cat spray from carpets without having to remove the carped and padding. In extreme cases it may necessary to lift the carpet and treat the wooden sub-floor. In these cases, we recommend replacing the padding rather than treating it. However, even in extreme cases it should not be necessary to replace the carpeting.
Will Odor Destroyer remove pet urine from automobile seats?

Yes. Because of the unique shape of automobile seats and the density of automobile foam, it may require more applications than home upholstery. However, Odor Destroyer's fast action helps eliminate the stench before it can penetrate other fabrics in the car. We recommend that automobiles under treatment be parked in a garage and the windows left down as much as possible to minimize odor transfer to other fabrics.
What is Cat Spray?

Cat Spray is a mix of urine and marking scent. Spray is excreted by the male (typically of vertical surfaces) to make females (and other males) aware of his presence. It is much more pungent that ordinary cat urine. When treating cat spray, as it acts like "stink concentrate" when water is added.
The urine smell is in the parquet flooring underneath the carpet. Will your product work on this situation?

Yes. I'm glad to hear that you are re-finishing them anyway as the solvents may damage some wood finishes. Also, the solvent base products do not present the warping problems you may have with water base solution. Apply a thin coat and allow it to penetrate the wood and cracks. When dry, repeat as necessary until the odor is gone (typically 3-4 applications). On wood, I would recommend the Vanilla scent since the fragrance is fairly mild.
Are there any home remedies that will eliminate pet urine and spray odor?

Unfortunately, there is no quick and easy home remedy for pet urine odors and stains. If there were a home remedy that worked, we certainly wouldn't be spending tons of money on the costly ingredients used to manufacture OdorDestroyer brand pet odor remover products.

General Application Notes

Important! Test an inconspicuous area for staining and discoloration before treating a more conspicuous area.

Room Freshening Spray a fine mist of Odor Destroyer into the air and allow it to fall. The solvents will grab airborne odors and the fragrance will be dissipated throughout the room. Be sure to cover fish tanks and sensitive plants to avoid potential complications.

Automobile Smells Spray a fine mist of Odor Destroyer into the automobile after the day's travels are over. The fragrance will be dissipated throughout the automobile. Go easy, Odor Destroyer is potent and a car is a small confined space. If dealing with a urine odor, leave the windows open at night to minimize odor transfer to other fabrics in the car.

Garbage can odors Spray a fine mist of Odor Destroyer into the can when newly emptied. The odor elimination compounds will begin consuming the odor immediately. For older cans with lots of 'stuff' stuck to the bottom, rinse the solid material from the can and them use Odor Destroyer to remove the remaining odors.

Bathroom and Litter Box odors Spray a fine mist of Odor Destroyer high into the air and let it fall. The odor elimination compounds will begin to eliminate the odor immediately. If you are new to Odor Destroyer products, take caution. They are quite potent, and more that one spritz may deliver a much stronger smell than you wanted.

Application Notes for Concrete

IMPORTANT!: Test an inconspicuous area for staining and discoloration before treating a more conspicuous area.

Locate the source of the odor by using a black light or your nose. Cat spray and urine often leaves a stain that resembles an old Coca Cola spill. Additionally, cat spray is usually located in a vertical surface rather than the floor. Be aware that there may be more than one source of the smell in close proximity. Multiple odor sources are particularly common with cat spray and dog urine.

Remove as much of the odor source as possible using warm soap and water. The more odor producing material you remove in this step, the faster and more economical the smell removal process will be.

Spray the entire affected area with Odor Destroyer until damp.

Wait 24 hours and re-smell the entire affected area. If you still smell the odor, repeat steps 1-3. If you smell the fragrance and a musty odor like stale bread, take heart. Most of odor has been attacked and is being broken down into harmless compounds. If you smell nothing but the fragrance, be happy. You have eliminated the problem Repeat steps 1-3 as neccessary.

Locate the source of the odor by using a black light or your nose. Be aware that there may be more than one source of the smell in close proximity. Multiple odor sources are particularly common with cat spray and dog urine.

Spray the entire affected area with Odor Destroyer until damp. It is important to realize that urine penetrates the carpet and padding and spreads along the surface of the sub-floor. As a result, the area producing the smell may be 24-40" in diameter although the surface stain is only 2-6" in diameter.

Work the fluid into the carpet using a carpet rake or thick bristled hairbrush. In order to minimize carpet fraying and maximize penetration, keep all strokes in a single direction along the grain of the carpet.

Wait 24 hours and re-smell the entire affected area (particularly the edges). If you still smell the odor, repeat steps 1-3. If you smell the fragrance and a musty odor like stale bread, this is good. Most of odor has been attacked and is being broken down into harmless compounds. If you smell nothing but the fragrance, be happy. You have eliminated the problem. Repeat steps 1-3 as neccessary.
