Tip of the Month
Pancreatitis and Table Scraps
Pancreatitis, or disease of the pancreas, can develop when dogs and cats eat fatty foods often found in table scraps. Older animals in particular have difficulty digesting food with high fat content, and the condition is reported more during holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. Susceptibility to pancreatitis may be inherited or due to related health issues.
If you feed your pets table scraps, avoid giving them food with high fat content.
